Kasi Development is an skills development initiative with the emphasis on “Youth Empowerment”. Tukiso Mateka and Alphie Shikwambana are the lead developers on this initiative. Tukiso is from Windmill and has a deep understanding of the challengers the youth face in the community, and has a passion for the development of the youth.

Strategy

The programme is designed to upskill youth within the community to become active participants in the fourth industrial revolution. The intention is to develop entrepreneurs that will create jobs so that people are not only become job seekers, but captains of industries.

Excellent outcomes

It is the intention of this programme to further stimulate the economy and in so doing alleviate poverty and provide opportunities within the community. This project is a multifaceted, integrated approach to economic and poverty alleviation.

It creates jobs, it creates opportunities for entrepreneurs and upskills people who have a basic understanding of computers to become more advance and in so doing improve job opportunities.

Who are the Youth?

High school student and all post matriculates of Windmill Park irrespective of the school.

 

Our Empowerment programme:

Skills development in the Information Technology (IT) sector

 

By providing:

Hands on training of Website development, integrated programming, digital printing, office administration, Business developers etc

 

Qualified IT specialist and business developers, to provide mentorship and guidance. People with 5years of experience with WordPress and 7years of experience in Mentorship.

 

Outcome:

Education on WordPress which is an Online course for all who want a basic understanding of computer. The intention is to equipe the youth with knowaladge of computer literacy.

The intention is also to have a porthole that will give the users access to career development and bursaries available in the market.

The following are offered as a basic introduction to computer literacy:

·         WordPress

·         Basic Administration and

·         Business Skills

In association with our partners we want to introduce this to companies and we hope that they will find space within their companies to use some of these users in learnership programmes. Needless to say that this will also give certain companies access to young black competent people to improve their BBBEE statues.
